First Annual PSU Lavender Graduation Ceremony May 29

Dear PSU staff and faculty,

For decades, students at colleges and universities around the country have been celebrating both their academic achievements and their cultural heritages at specialized commencement events.  These events provide a sense of community for minority students, and for many students they are the payoff for staying in school, and friends and families find the smaller ceremonies both meaningful and personal.

The PSU Queer Resource Center, in collaboration with the PSU Sexual and Gender Equality Task Force would like you to join us in recognizing some of our exceptional students by attending the PSU Lavender Graduation ceremony Friday, May 29th from 3-5pm in SMSU 296.  Lavender Graduation is a celebration that recognizes LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) and straight-ally students of all backgrounds, and acknowledges their struggles, successes, and contributions to the university community.  We will also be presenting the first annual PSU Pride Awards, given to a select group of graduating students to recognize their outstanding achievements and contributions.

Thank you so much for all of the work you do to support student success and leadership on campus.

Sincerely,

Zena Piccolo
